Inline Sub-Notes / Rich Footnotes on Highlighted Text
Be able to attach hidden or inline context (text, images, links, YouTube videos, tweets, or Google Sheets) directly to a selected word or phrase inside a note, task, or calendar event without cluttering the main body text.
Allow users to highlight any word, phrase, or sentence and attach an inline sub-note or rich footnote to it. When hovering over or clicking the highlighted text, the attached note pops up for quick reference. This keeps primary pages clean and focused on high-priority ideas, while preserving immediate access to background context, definitions, or source details without cluttering the main text with unrelated information. (Adding background context or tangential details directly into the body breaks reading flow and clutters the document.)
The Benefit: Saves page real estate for core ideas while keeping supplementary references instantly accessible when you need to refresh your memory.
Read Amplenote's "rich footnotes" feature here. See screenshot below.

Additionally, use those rich footnotes or sub-notes or reference notes to search for existing pages -- you can link to them in the same 'rich footnotes' popup or just link information without a URL link anywhere. Would love the ability to use this for text only, external links, images, Google Sheets, videos, another page or note, a tweet, a task, a calendar event, etc.

This is the number one thing that kept me from Capacities for so long before I finally ended up making the switch to Capacities from Amplenote.
It's honestly a deal breaker for me, and it is almost compelling enough for me to switch back to it again because I genuinely like the reference info there without it bulking up the whole page with unrelated information.
