Video player native to capacities

Beside embeding YouTube Videos i do have amassive need to habe other videos in Capacities.I do use Vapacities for music practice, for singing and playing Piano or bothe together. Therefore i do record myself or use Videos of my teachers of the stuff i am recently praczicing. To embed rhem would force me to upload them to YouTube or Vimeo. That leads to all kind of issues with the rights to that music, like GEMA and, if changing them, i had to have the consent of the composer. That is mainly so for the reason that these video services are mainly for sharing videos with others, therefore having to adhere to that legal issues strictly. And there is no way of avoiding their upload check for copyright reasons. The same problem with videos belonging to books or pdfs i purchased and that are partof these books or courses, but are of course subject to copyright laws. This couses many problems. It would be largely beneficiant to all users to have a player to embed privately held videos of any kind just for personal purposes, not to share them in publicity, for that is legally possible. That will aply for students and professional use as well, for regularly it is necessery to hold copyright protected material for strictly personal use in your PKM. Presently i do have these videos at my Dropbox. Dropbox does habe a basic video player, and a first step could be to have the possibility to embed that, for dropbox does not do a copyright check at upload, for it is by design a personal storage, not a video sharing platform. I dont want to use Google Drive or such, for i actively try to get as far as possible away from Alphabeta or such. I do use Apple throughout, for better if not perfect distance to data mining. To use Capacities follows the same philosophy, for you are as i am in the EU, and i do trust you to have a respectfull aproach to my data and my personal rights to own them without beeing spy upon and beeing monetized. I do think that many of your customers think alike, and giving them a possibility to keep distant from google and Vimeo and such would benefit greatly.

Linking the dropbox account to capacities would be even better, eg having full rights to access dropbox from capacities. So much essier.

Dropbox embedding would be a good start.

Capacities supports embedded YouTube, Loom, and Tella videos, but native playback of local videos isn’t documented: https://docs.capacities.io/reference/basic-types/weblinks. Which file formats and sizes would you need, and would embedding a Dropbox video meet your use case?
