Object Type dates template custom rules

the template with automated date is great we can choose this week month etc. but I think it would be better if we can custom rules like Date <> next year or Day +5 or something like this.
The reason is if we create a plan, usually we create by 1 day before, or 1 quarter before, or etc so if we got object type called yearly, we wouldn't create the plan on the first date of january but at the very least it would be 31st december of the previous year.
