Can't add indented block under embedded page

I have a bulleted list (they're toggles, not bullets), and I've turned each item in the list into a page (so that I can edit them on my own) that I turned into a page, and now it's embedded in my original page. And the embed is a collapsed toggle. Great!

What I want to do is add a block that's indented with respect to this embed bullet, but I want it to be part of the page with the list, not the embedded page.

In the screenshot, if I hit Tab on "hello", it moves to the embedded page itself. Thinking in objects and documents (especially as a developer of such applications) I understand why this is happening. But I would love to be able to have my cake and eat it too, to have the embed serve as an item in my list that can have items related to it (and indented) just like any other list item.

I think the solution with what Capacities can currently do would be to have a non-embedded as the main toggled block, and have the embed inside it, and then any other notes also inside it. I'd welcome any other suggestions of how to organize this information.

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan Tuzman this is expected. You can use the inline link style and embed under that, which means it'll also show in the backlinks which is helpful.

A possible workaround is to create a toggle on the parent page, nest the embed inside it, then add your notes as sibling blocks under that toggle. Embeds reflect the source block, so editing the embedded page’s content also changes the original page: Blocks and embeds.
