Ability to sort/group/filter date references within day page on calendar

When working with the date references on my day note I'd like to be able to sort/group/filter these. At the moment they only appear by creation date/date range but they are all mixed up and it gets quite hard to find what I'm looking for. It'd be awesome to be able to adapt how this query shows up.
