Side Panel that shows highlighted word count when text is highlighted by cursor

For example: In google docs, when you have the word count panel pinned, with no text selected, it shows the total word count of the document. However, it you highlight some amount of text, it instead shows you stats for the text that you have highlighted. This would be great to have in capacities.
