Accessing Capacities Secret Links via API for a GPT chatbot

Hello Capacities Support,

I have connected my custom GPT, “Logeia,” to Capacities via the API. Logeia functions as an AI chatbot for my clients and uses my Capacities space as its knowledge base.

It would be very helpful if the chatbot could occasionally cite individual Capacities objects — for example texts, method descriptions, or informational pages — and provide users with a direct link to the relevant Capacities object.

At the moment, the chatbot is already attempting to do this. However, it generates or shares the internal Capacities object link rather than the public Secret Link. As a result, users of the chatbot cannot access the linked object.

ChatGPT has informed me that the Capacities API currently does not seem to expose the Secret Link of an object.

My question is therefore:

Is there currently any way to retrieve the public Secret Link of an object via the Capacities API, provided that the object has already been shared publicly using a Secret Link?

If not, is there another recommended way to implement this workflow?

My goal is quite simple: whenever an object in Capacities has been explicitly made publicly accessible through a Secret Link, I would like my GPT to be able to provide that exact public link to the user.

It would also be helpful to know whether API access to Secret Links is planned for the future.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

Armin Wilding

The public API documentation does not currently document an endpoint for retrieving an object’s public Secret Link. Please specify the API endpoint/version your GPT is using and whether an MCP-based solution would be acceptable, so the team can assess the workflow. https://developers.capacities.io/api/reference
