Add a global font size setting (or quick zoom) on desktop and mobile
Hi team,
I'd like to request a global font size option in Capacities — ideally on both desktop and mobile.
Right now the documentation states that Capacities doesn't offer a global font size setting for the app or the editor. On desktop this is manageable, since I can fall back on system display scaling, but on mobile there's no real workaround. The default text size in the app is noticeably small for me, and reading or reviewing longer notes on the phone quickly becomes tiring.
What I have in mind is fairly simple:
A font size setting in Settings → Appearance/Editor — even three or four preset steps (e.g. Small / Default / Large / Extra Large) would already solve the problem. A fully granular slider isn't necessary.
A quick zoom shortcut on desktop — something like Ctrl/Cmd + and Ctrl/Cmd −, or Ctrl + scroll wheel, so the size can be adjusted on the fly depending on whether I'm writing or reading.
Respecting the system text size on mobile, or at least offering an in-app scale option, so the app follows the accessibility settings users have already configured on their device.
I understand that Capacities has a carefully designed visual hierarchy and a unified design system, and that opening up font sizes means spacing, layouts and export views all need to hold up at different scales. Because of that, I'd be perfectly happy with a conservative implementation: a few fixed steps that the team has tested, rather than free-form sizing.
For me this is less of a styling preference and more of a readability and accessibility issue — especially for longer reading sessions and for users who simply need larger text. Many comparable note apps expose at least a basic text size or zoom control, so I think this would be a meaningful quality-of-life improvement for a wide range of users.
Thanks for all the work you put into the app!
