Choose object type when creating from the @ linking menu
When I highlight text and choose @, the linking search lets me select an existing object or create a new Page. I would like the creation option to also let me choose the object type without leaving the linking flow.
Currently, if the object doesn't exist and should be something other than a Page, I have to exit the linking flow and use + to create it, or use the /type/name/ syntax. Both interrupt the writing process and require me to hold information in working memory while switching actions (for those who are neurodivergent this can be a big hurdle to overcome).
Ideally, the existing @ search could include Create “[highlighted text]” as… followed by the available object types. This would also encourage users to search before creating, helping reduce accidental duplicate objects.
