Selecting and Deleting text in multiple blocks is cumbersome

Why are blocks so hard to use for simple text editing? They look like paragraphs but they do not act like them. You cannot select text across blocks, merge the blocks (paragraphs), and especially, delete lots of continuous text across blocks (like if I pasted a lot of text and then need to remove it or most of it). I just don't get why dev teams are so in love with block editors. Simplify!!

Actually, it's not too hard when you know how it works. Using the mouse, when the cursor is an arrow, you can click and drag over multiple blocks to select them. When the cursor is a text insert symbol, you can select text within a block. You can also click on the 6 dots to the left of each block and use Ctrl + click to select multiple blocks. And if you want to select part of a block along with other blocks, you can split the block at the desired point using the Enter key.

Thanks for sharing this. Capacities uses a block-based editor by design, but there are some tools that can help here: you can select multiple blocks (e.g. with Cmd/Ctrl + Click or rectangle selection) and then delete or merge them using shortcuts like Merge text blocks (Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+G). You can find an overview of block selection and editing shortcuts here: https://docs.capacities.io/reference/blocks and https://docs.capacities.io/reference/shortcuts.
