Improve text formatting and layout options in the editor

I would like to suggest expanding the text formatting options available in the Capacities editor.

Currently, there are no options to:

  • Justify text
  • Align text to the left, center, or right

These formatting options would provide a greater flexibility when creating well structured and visually organized notes.

I would also like to suggest improving the spacing between headings and horizontal dividers. For example, when inserting a horizontal rule (---) immediately below an H1 heading, the vertical gap is much larger than necessary. Reducing this spacing would create a cleaner and more balanced layout.

Overall, these improvements would make the editor more versatile and improve the reading and writing experience.

These formatting features are available in many modern note-taking applications and would make Capacities even more suitable for creating polished, long-form notes and documentation.

I haven't needed this yet, so I hadn't noticed it, but it's surprising that it's not possible to align text in Capacities.

I hope this will be implemented anytime soon. Anytype can do it, Affine can do it, Obsidian can do it, ClickUp can do it, (interestingly, Notion can't).

@Beth do you have information about this?
