Automated vault-wide hover previews/definitions for text matching "Definition" object titles.
I would love to see a native feature that automatically recognizes when a specific word or term is used in a note, and if that term matches the title of a Definition Object, hovering over it displays a pop-up containing the definition (the body of that corresponding object).
This would function as a dynamic, automated glossary across the entire vault/space.
Proposed Workflow & Features:
- Automatic Term Recognition: The system scans the active note's text for strings that exactly match the title of any object of the designated "Definition" object type.
- Hover Tooltip / Pop-up Card: When a user hovers over the recognized word or phrase, a clean, non-intrusive tooltip pops up.
- Preview Content: The tooltip pulls and renders the body text (or summary field) of that matching Definition object.
- Vault-Wide Availability: This feature should actively check text blocks across all pages and object types in the vault, creating a seamless reading experience.
- Handles different forms of the term (e.g, a Definition object titled "Provocation" matches "provoke", "provoked", etc.
# Example Use Case:
- You have a dedicated custom object type called Definition.
- You create a Definition object titled "PKM" with the body text: "Personal Knowledge Management—a process of collecting, classifying, storing, searching, retrieving, and losing knowledge."
- Later, while writing a daily note or a project page, you type the word PKM normally (without manual linking).
- The Result: The app subtly underlines or highlights the word "PKM". When you hover your mouse over it, a small pop-up card immediately displays the definition text without leaving your current page.
