Keep daily notes out of related tags
When writing about several different topics in a single daily note - and then using tags or mentions to link the different blocks (or groups of blocks) to different topics - I struggle with the following:
Capacities treats those semantically unrelated blocks as related, because they were added to the same daily note. Therefore the ‘related tags’ sections gets filled with unrelated tags, and object content graphs are similarly ‘polluted’ with links that make no sense.
I’ve come to understand that the intended use for the daily notes is to treat them as a sort of an inbox, that you prune and channel in to objects. But by giving an option to exclude daily notes from ‘related tags’ or the graph view - you also give users to use the daily notes in a different manner.
At least for me, I’m not fond of being forced to make every block of text in to an object - it feels artificial. The daily notes no longer feels like a journal, but an inbox.
I’ve been using Capacities for well over a year, but only recently discovered this. I’m open for suggestions as to how to work around the design of Capacities, but I feel like this is a central issue that affects every user - so I’m filing it as an improvement request.

Everytime i try to really use daily notes on my workflow, i face issues beacuse daily notes has its own unique and not customized behavior that makes no sense to be.
If you try to use as journal, all your content will be mixed up. If you try to use as an inbox, you have no control of it. You cant tag daily notes, for exemple. So you have no way to filter those daily notes you haven't processed yet. You cannot filter content you haven't processed yet because you cant filter blocks.
So every content i clip from elsewhere gets lost on daily notes because you have no other option.
I use capacities a lot, but i dont use it daily because thats not my routine.
IVe been thinking bout using daily notes as brain dump, and processing it via mcp. But, it would be a lot easier if we could just tag a daily note as "processed". Because even via mcp, it would be better to know where to look, and not overlook and then filtering duplicates.
I dont know. Daily notes doesn't make sense and i with we could customize ANYTHING:
Just gives us control of the object.. and then we decide how to use, just like any other object.
