Global Word Aliases & Transliteration Search

While Capacities currently supports object-level aliases, it would be highly beneficial to have a global repository or dictionary for general text and word aliases. This would significantly enhance both normal and extended search functionalities, allowing the system to seamlessly recognize transliterated words, alternative spellings, or abbreviations across all notes without needing to create a dedicated object for them.

+5 from me! 🙂

There are so many reasons and useful scenarios for this kind of "personalized AI". To save some time I simply re-post 2 arguments around the same idea from the Discord. Hope this gives additional perspective and some more arguments&ideas:

"I can say that for some time I feel that user controlled thesauri and indexes (integrated w/ thesauri) are one of the most neglected power technology for pkm apps. while everything should be around concepts and semantics, most – even advanced – pkm apps are still stuck in a) strings & syntax and b) one language ... there are very few exceptions in the consumer / prosumer world that I know of that actually fully allow for aliases, higher level concept indexing, and personal lexica... though everything of that becomes critical at some stage in personal evolution of knowledge management / gardening systems / projects... (I know the Relevansii search engine for wordpress allows for such self defined thesauri; DevonThink allows for aliases – to some extent & allows customizing the auto-concordance to some extent; Circuspony Notebooks worked quite well with indexes... but all this never really became standard feature sets nowhere..."

"[reading a sub-proposal from another user re improving "unlinked mentions" here] that gave me another bold idea; or to be more precise reactualized an old idea & favorite of mine in a new, meaningful context. – that is: personal thesaurus or custom lexica. the idea, which I saw implemented in some of the best user customizable / extensible search machines is this: let the users co-define meaning, relation, translation and – @AntoineFou ! – 'alias' relations generically or 'programmatically' for a given work context (workspace, knowledge domain, project etc.). this means basically the system is fed a simple text-list in the form of a = b, c=d, etc. (vogel = bird, Thorsten = friend, anthropocene = posthumanism, Vanessa Cardui = Painted Lady, Painted Lady = cosmopolitan, Painted Lady = Nymphalidae, …) etc. etc. [yes, I am looking at you too, here, @xang … 😊 🌻 )"
