Notion Bulk Import improvements (Images, Titles, Links,..)
- Images - Images are not shown on the imported pages, I only see their path in the text eg.: IMG_0082.jpg (Lightroom/IMG_0082.jpg). This one is probably broken on the Notion export side, but it can be fixed via third party tools when importing to Obsidian for example https://unmarkdown.com/blog/notion-export-broken
- Titles - I have exactly same text in Title and in Heading1 at the start of every imported page. I want to keep text in title only as it was in original Notion page
- Link to blocks/pages - only shows path where the link heads eg.:((../../Freelancing/Networking f5d3868636fd4cceaca69c40e55389bc.md)). I imported page with mention and mentioned page at once, but it's not linked
- Pages in databases - there is a duplicate of every page in database: One with all the text and the second one with the same title but with only mention to the first page + properties from database at the start of page. I would love to see only one page with all text.
extras:
- Some features like block toggles, Callouts, text color and maybe synced blocks? would be probably possible to import if HTML export from Notion would be able to interpreted and imported. The HTML export preserves more formatting than the markdown export, paradoxically, because the HTML can represent more of Notion's block types.
Tho I really appreciate all the work that Capacities team did with the bulk import feature! Thanks a lot!

Yes please! It looks like some small tinkering with the Notion import functionality could go a long way. Capacities just needs to know a little more about the format of CSV and MD files that Notion generates. Right now, the result is not really usable – content (Notion provides via MD files) and properties (Notion provides via CSV files) should be associated with each other and merged, image paths need to resolve (Notion provides images in a folder with a title matching the MD file H1), the opening H1 title should be stripped from the page content (since it is the object title).

Thanks for the detailed breakdown, this is very helpful. Based on the current docs, bulk import works best with clean Markdown/CSV and has limited support for richer Notion-specific structures and HTML: images must be exported as actual files with valid relative paths, titles/headings are imported as-is, and only supported link syntaxes are resolved into object links. None of the behaviors you describe (HTML-based import, smarter title/heading handling, better block/page link resolution, or merging database pages) are currently documented as supported, so this request is a good fit for future improvements to the Notion migration and bulk import pipeline. For reference on what’s supported today, see: https://docs.capacities.io/migration/import-from-notion and https://docs.capacities.io/reference/bulk-import.

To add more information: Obsidian is using HTML already for import from Notion probably because of this.
