Support for rendering standard Markdown footnotes/endnotes with clickable superscript/bubble links that scroll references into view.
As a user who handles research, academic notes, and long-form writing, I would love to see native support for standard Markdown footnotes and endnotes.
Currently, referencing specific sources or adding side notes inline disrupts the reading flow. I propose implementing a system where:
- Footnotes written in standard Markdown syntax (e.g.,
[^1],[^citation]) automatically render as clean superscripts or subtle number bubbles. See the attached screenshot as an example. - Clicking on the footnote indicator instantly scrolls the corresponding reference into view (and vice versa for a quick return to the text).
- Hovering over the footnote indicator previews the reference's content without needing to scroll to the reference (usually at the page's bottom).
This would dramatically improve readability and bring Capacities closer to a robust research PKM system.
