macOS Menu Bar Icon for Quick Access & Capture
Hey Capacities team! đź‘‹
I'd love to see a native macOS menu bar icon for Capacities — similar to how apps like Claude, OneDrive, or Dropbox sit quietly in the top bar and are always one click away.
What I'm imagining:
• A small Capacities icon in the macOS menu bar
• Clicking it opens a quick-capture panel or jumps straight to the app
• Ideally with a global keyboard shortcut to trigger it
Right now, Capacities lives only in the Dock, which means I have to switch apps or use workarounds like Hookmark or Raycast just to quickly jot something down. A native menu bar presence would make Capacities feel much more integrated into the Mac experience and speed up quick capture significantly.
Is this on the roadmap? Would love to know if it's planned! 🙏

Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion and for outlining your ideal workflow so clearly. A native macOS menu bar item with quick capture isn’t documented as part of Capacities right now, so it’s not something we currently support. For now, the closest options are integrations like Raycast or WhatsApp/Telegram/Email to daily notes for quick capture: https://docs.capacities.io/reference/integrations.
I’ve linked your idea internally with our ongoing work around integrations and universal quick capture so it can be considered alongside that roadmap: https://feedback.capacities.io/board/universal-quick-capture.
