Global Object Query

It seems odd to me that there's not already included a built-in query on the sidebar that just surfaces all objects (hidable), with the default sort set to created date/time (but you could edit the query as normal). And you could choose which properties to show (mostly just system properties). This would give the user a way to scan through recent objects and do things with them.
