Not possible to type a space after any of the digits 2 to 9, followed by a full stop.

If I type '2. ' I am unable to insert a space after the full stop. This is the same for the digits 2 to 9. Mac OS desktop app Capacities v1.59.7

This is intentionally. You can change that behavior in the settings:
