Option to have pinned side panels remain when switching tabs

I noticed that my side panels that I try to keep to my right as to-do lists getting "washed over" by the main page when switching to other tabs (excluding the tab the side panels were opened in).

It would be welcoming to have an option of some sort to pin or lock side panels that you don't want to disappear when switching tabs.
