Capacities on Mac requests elevated privileges very often

It gets to be a big pain when Capacities requests elevated privs (what seems to be) every 30 minutes or so. (It could be longer between requests - but they mess up my concentration).

Capacities is a tool that I'd want to have open all day, not something I hastily shut down again to avoid constant priv requests.

I assume it is checking for a software update(?) If so, can't it check for that without privs and only ask for them when it needs to do something?
