Creating Linked Properties with single select (e.f Father's children, Child's Mother)

Example:

Object:Person

Property: Children (Person)

If I link a person to be father of a child, the father should get children listed? As person's father property is type Person, but single select, I am unable to link them.

A person would have one father/mother at any time.

Let's not go into biological/adopted, as those are special cases. Most cases, will benefit from this type linkage, where property of one object may have linkage to many single select properties of other objects?
