Global Undo and Undo Improvements

I really struggle with how undo works. It's unclear but seems to be just local to the block/page. It's causing me a lot of friction. I sometimes get nervous when I'm doing a lot of editing to something I've spent time on, as I've had the experience of making some mistakes and then losing the original work as I wasn't able to undo. (It also gets stuck if you have a modal open).

I would love if undo was improved so that it works like in most other applications.

This is unfortunately still an issue as of 9/17/26. It's really unfortunate, as I am a heavy user of the app and have definitely had a few occasions where I've lost content due to bugginess. Version history is nice, but it is not granular enough to solve the issues I've had with this.

+1, I'm on the Believer plan and would consider myself a power user of the app by now. I've had a lot of issues with undo as well. In addition to everything you've said, on the Capacities mac app, Command + Z (undo shortcut) does not do the same thing as going to the Edit > Undo menu. I think the Edit > Undo menu is broken, tbh. Doesn't do anything. The Edit > Redo is also broken, doesn't do anything. Have to use the Redo keyboard shortcut.

It's also hard to understand what was "Undone". Briefly highlight the block that had the undo so you can visually identify it on screen.

In general, undo, version history, etc needs a lot of work to build trust you're not going to lose something. It feels very fragile and I'm always worried about what I'm going to lose. Some of this comes from the fact it's super fast to navigate around (awesome) but then if you're moving fast, you need the ability to undo, restore a version from 5 minutes ago, etc. Severely lacking.
