UI interaction performance improvements (non-blocking UI)

MacOS, M2 Max.

The interaction to response latency is uncomfortably high for navigating around the app. UI should ideally not be blocked by data loading. Lazy load the object contents? Or some other UI blocker?

Not the worst but it is not comfortable to work with—roughly 600ms for first interaction response.

900ms from click to full load, which is rather disruptive to flow.
