UI tweak needed to make the best Spaced Repetition System (powered by AI Dates)

Every student or knowledge worker has always endorsed the Spaced Repetition System in their Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) tool to remember and review their synthesized knowledge. Previously in Capacities, this was achievable but required several manual steps and a Query stack to display due items. However, with the new AI feature for the Date property, it can now become seamless with some custom AI instructions. Yet, there's still a hurdle in terms of the UI for enabling a smooth workflow. Here's how it works, along with some screenshots for illustration:

  • Drawing inspiration from the ANKI flashcard system, Tags can be defined according to 'Recall Efficiency' (Again, Hard, Good, Easy).
  • For a given topic, I can have a "Last Reviewed" date and a single-select Recall Efficiency tag property.
  • Based on my performance, I can select the appropriate Recall tag (for instance, I've selected 'Again').
  • Next to this Recall Tag, I will have the AI Date property with custom instructions.
  • When I click on the AI (✨) icon, it will display the same Date as the Reviewed property because the Recall tag was 'Again'.
  • If my performance improves by the next review, I will simply click on the tag property and select "Good".
  • However, after the AI Date was previously applied, the AI (✨) icon no longer appears (unlike SELECT/MULTISELECT, TEXT, or NUMBER properties, which allow for override/replace and the AI icon is always visible). My only recourse is to click on AI DATE, and when the NEW DATE selection window opens, I then click on delete. Only after this will the AI DATE cell display the AI icon again. Now, I can click it, and the new AI DATE will appear instantly (since it was 'Good', it would add 7 days to the Last Reviewed Date).

Thus, I am proposing this UI improvement so that the AI icon remains visible even after a DATE is applied, allowing us to OVERRIDE it when variables like the Select property or 'Last Reviewed' change.
