Android/iOS Widgets or Quick Tile

My work flow throughout the day has been to capture info as quickly as possible. Currently I have created a TickTick quick tile on my Pixel. So even with the phone still locked, I can swipe down, click the tile, capture an idea. It's quick and easy and I can do it when I drive, am walking, or even feeding my little toddler for dinner.

But because I have been trying to create my second brain within Capacities, this always means then transferring those quick captures here. So a quick tile and/or widget would really be great. A widget would probably be the more likely way to go on mobile because they can be created for Android and iOS users.

yes, I'm coming from Notion and I very much miss having widgets to link to frequently used pages and I would use a select object widget that opens that object when I tap on the widget frequently

As an Android user who doesn't use WhatsApp or Telegram and doesn't know how to code things in Tasker or Automate, I'm really really wanting a purpose built Capacities quick capture widget, similar to the Google Keep widget - super fast being the PRIMARY magic part

  • tap-talk - transcript and mp3 are in the daily note
  • tap-snap pic - image is in the daily note
  • tap-swipe on keyboard - text bullet item added to daily note

Any fancy features or cloud sync is separate from the "quick save widget" where we just tap to get information into the system before we forget and with minimal fuss.

A task widget would be awesome too, different from the "quick save" widget

On iOS, you can use Apple Shortcuts (alongside voice dictation or whatever preferred input method) to send to your daily note. For example, I use it from my Apple Watch to dictate text the gets sent to Capacities. The shortcut is setup to prepend with date and time stamp and adds #Inbox to the end. Then, I just go to a pinned #Inbox query and process! Pretty snazzy. I can even say "hashtag movie" to add #Movie to clearly tell me what type of object I was planning.

Plenty of 3rd party tools on Android can do this as well, Tasker and other things.

API usage requires the pro subscription, I believe.

On my iPhone, I have the action button setup to give me a menu of options, two of which are for sending to Capacities: one for text input, the other for voice.

It would be nice to have one that has a list of the pinned entries. And widgets where you can pick specific pages

What would also be helpful is a widget that displays my list of Tasks due today?

I know this is possible via Task Actions, but I think it'd be good to have this functionality built within Capacities own Task Management solution

As an interim measure, I wonder whether there's a quick capture way to set the whatsapp capacities contact to quickly jot down thoughts... perhaps in IOS using the Shortcuts app? I don't know what the alternative would be on Android)
