Whitelist / Blacklist / 3rd Party Service Board (for collective reference & exchange)
this is a kind of 'strategical request', leveled up from a musing on the Canny board

I think medium-term it would help in different respects to have a kind of reference list / exchange board (team & users) / 'clearing house' perspective about what user-side 3rd party platforms work in terms of embedding within Capacities.
I was just reminded of this reading two different strands of discussions – one on media upload (server space limits; long-term strategies for bringing AV-knowledge into Capacities etc.) & one on the need to have dynamical & external 'non-(Capacities-}native' documents in one's CAP knowledge studio, which are not necessarily Google-bound (like Airtable, Craft, Notion etc.).
– both scenarios a) rely on 3rd party services; b) would be easier to assess / negotiate for users if they knew (or could propose!) which 3rd party platforms are currently whitelisted / blacklisted; c) also need some long-term thinking / weighing – as every PKM system grows longer term & investments in platforms create relevant 'path dependencies' for users…
so, all in all, I think Capacities, the way it is and the way it acts – more and more – as a mediating 'knowledge studio', with windows and doors to the outside user- and platform-world would really do good having some more systematic, readable / 'referenceable', transparent and negotiable listing of 3rd party platforms that work with it (and will so for the foreseeable future).
I think a welcome, strategic side effect of this would be that everyone and the team / user – community collectively would have to wrap their heads and exchange around what 3rd-party integrations are needed, welcome, helpful, risky, helpful, wanted etc. – and what this all means for Capacities development itself…
… again, … this really is kind of mixture btw. a 'feature request', a proposition and the floating of a strategical idea / point… 🦦
