Feature Request: I find column handles are hard to see & find

I was drafting an object yesterday where I knew I needed two columns so I used the /column command. Works great, however I found myself fishing around my screen looking for the grab-handles of the columns to actually add blocks to them... It was odd to me they're so hidden. I would also love a visual of some kind seperating the columns, maybe a vertical bar like using --- in an object but vertically?

All UX suggestions, still fully functional just looking to make better use of columns in the future and this current UX made them a little fussy to use.
