Custom Properties for Basic Content Types / Customize default object types

I'd like to be able to add some custom properties to the basic content types. For example, I wish I could add a date property to a weblink so I can track when it was input. Thanks!

It would be great to at least be able to edit the labels, e.g. add "Note" as a pdf document type

This would give me the ability to select an applicable Area and/or Project instead of having to @-mention them in a Page (or other Basic Content) object. Having a drop-down/auto-complete for those Area/Project properties would be faster and, ideally I could optionally require it so I don't forget to "tag it" appropriately.

I don't understand why there is no author field for PDFs or weblinks? I don't want to have to create a unique object just to be able to add author as standard

I'd like at least the ability to suppress or turn off basic object types I don't use. For example, I keep creating pages by accident and have to delete the object type every time. I'd rather that just not happen.

there are multiple times where a custom property is needed to improve the data. Creating new objects each time mostly negates the use of standard objects.

This! especially with the new "Category" and "Topic" properties that got added to weblinks (similar over on Images) - none of the options fit my workflow and we can't turn them off ☹️
