Reading mode / Lock blocks, lock page

Would love to be able to lock a page to prevent editing, it's annoyingly easy to accidentally create a new line break and a shortcut-toggled page lock would take care of that. Even better if locking at the block/item level was an option.

– … also seeing this in relation with my want to have some "calmer" and more "solid" reading mode for embedded PDFs (👉 https://feedback.capacities.io/b/1v35e680/feature-ideas/bring-back-more-minimal-calm-pdf-embedding-view)

Very glad this is on the team's radar - Notion has lock/unlock toggle for every single page but Capacities is structured much differently (read: better lol).

For Capacities, I think it makes sense to have lock/unlock down to the object within the type. However, I also have custom object types with many objects within it, but the goal of those object types (for me) is to keep it in Table view and look at it like a database.

I wonder if we could have "lock/unlock at the object-specific level" and then again at "lock/unlock at the object type level" if we don't want to think about clicking so many times if there's hundreds of objects within one object type.

Perhaps some kind of general "reading mode" for the whole space could also help - the individual object locking/object type locking is important at a more detailed level, but if you just want to "read your whole space," then there's an overall "reading mode" that takes out the tedious task of having to lock every single possible object before doing so.

I hope that makes sense but more than happy to add extra context!!

I have lost count of the number of times I have edited information on a page by mistake. Being able to lock a page and/or a table would be beneficial.

I fully support this. This is a basic necessity.
