Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly Notes
I think it would be a great addition to have Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Notes along with the Daily Notes interface. For example, by pressing the number buttons above the calendar to create one.

Considering Capacities’ calendar capabilities and the “daily note” feature, things like “weekly note” or “monthly note” seem like a natural next step. It’s strange that nothing is happening on this front. We’d appreciate some comment ;)
Would love this. I'd much prefer to manage my notes from the week in one record as opposed to starting a new record every day!
It's possible I'm misunderstanding, but is this not currently feasible in practice by creating additional templates to apply to Daily Notes and using tags/filters?

How is this #2 Trending 700 Votes and not even tagged as planned or in progress yet Beth I feel like capacities is a journaling tool at it's core and time is the glue that links all our connections and saved items together in a meaningful way.

Really Surprised this isn't already an object type that capacaties allows you to add as one of thoses default/preset Object types. Would solve a big problem almost all journaling tools have and allow for more helpful connections. A Feature like this would make and app like NotePlan less relevant because capacities could now also effectivley own a chunk of the agenda/goal setting market.
Concur with Jess M - I made my own, but having them function like Daily Notes would be great
that would be nice. would feel like a paper calender
Yes! I created my own type for weekly notes but it would be great to have it more integrated into the calendar view the way daily notes are.

I love this and if we would add backlinks that would be amazing. Just as we can use the date picker to select a specific date, if we could also @ the main annual or weekly note too that would be a cherry on it.
I love this idea. I would love this incorporated into maybe an Agenda feature, where you can click on it, and then week, month, quarter, or year at the top in a line similar to the current line in the Calendar tab.
What would appear would be a list of all date referenced objects for that period of time in a list order, even better if I could scroll to a later day or month or year and add an object for long term future planning. :)
Supporting this as well.
I have watched the videos where people create Day, Week and Year objects but honestly this is a lot of work and tinkering.
Since calendar is one of the pillars of Capacities, making it more powerful would be an awesome upgrade.
This is another opportunity to expand Date Notes: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Notes as an enhanced or new feature "Capacities:Timeline."
Visualize the macOS Finder "Gallery" view. Selecting "time scale" Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly, you can visually review Date Objects.
This makes the most sense to me given capacities has a calendar/journal aspect to it
I made an object as "weekly notes" but it is not ideal at all. This is one of the few things that I miss from obsidian.
I would also add that the current calendar views sucks since you can only see linked content on the "day" view. "Three days", "week" and "month" views are useless to me since they only show the daily note without any other info. I would rather see everything else besides the daily note itself.

With the latest update, we added first-class support for time-based templates. You can either use our templates from the object studio or use the newly introduced date variables in our default template for your type. Dates will be auto-applied and show up in the calendar in the correct week, month, etc.
If you need more features or better integration for your workflows, please create tickets for the explicit requests.
We at the moment do not plan to add built-in types, as we think custom types are better suited for this.
