Super happy to share that bulk import is now available for everyone! 🥳
We really put unbelievable amounts of time and effort into developing it. There were many trade-offs along the way, but we're really happy with how it turned out. There is no simple one-click import into Capacities, and that is by design. 💡 The paradigm of how ideas are organized is different from most apps, and there is no value in dumping a legacy structure into a new system. We truly believe that you'll get the most value from it if you use it deliberately and with intention.
We wrote extensive guides for different tools and problems in our documentation. We think it's worth checking them out! 📚
We hope you like it. You can read about the full release here: https://capacities.io/whats-new/release-65
I kicked the tires on this last week as a Pro user, and it was really great. I bulk imported about 300 daily notes (hand written, scanned, turned into MD files with front matter) -- it took me a little bit to get the syntax right, but it absolutely worked. This is a HUGE value-add.
I have a lot of notes on Notion too, and I look forward for this feature too. I am on a personal project of de-Americanize all my technology stack dependencies.
I'm still using Notion. This is very important to migrate my data and start using capacities as an active user.

Ever since LLM-based wikis and AI-powered second brains became a thing, this feature has been a must-have for me. 🙏

Would love to batch import my CRM contacts. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Yes, I am voting for this.
I hav e over 500 notes in Obsidian that I have been manually copppy/paste into Capacities.
I will 120 years old when I am done, please move this along.
Thank you
This also enables a easy converting from OneNote - driven by the OneMore plugin (https://onemoreaddin.com/commands/File%20Commands.htm)
Would like to see an easy Import from Evernote! :)
Any time soon?
I’m a documentary producer who uses in-depth research. My entire workflow is built around Notion and Anytype. I’m waiting for this feature to upgrade to a Pro subscription. Thanks.
Looks like this has begun in 2022. What is the status of this feature development now?

What about importing Data from Anytype?
This is a deal breaker-please do it! Thanks.
Yes please! Considering coming over from Notion - but a lot of history that I would like to bring across. Certainly a barrier.
This seems like a such an important feature. To really start using the app instead of Obsidian i would need by base notes. I have about 1000 notes.
A Craft would be nice but I'll take CSV.
I vote yes. This is a deal breaker for me.

Please!!!! Amplenote
Even an import from some specifically prepared file format would allow people to write their own custom import scripts (similar to Tana Intermediate Format).
A way to create items through the API would be viable alternative too. Just give us _some_ way to import stuff without having to do it manually for each object.
I won't be able to make the switch until this is in place.
Joplin? :)
I've been using Tana for over 3 years. I would love at least some level of support for it.
This feature would transform how i use capacities. Until i can do this it just feels like i'm playing! I hope its released soon! Thanks!
I would love this feature! I've been using Notion for 6 years and now considering to move to Capacity, but I want to be able to do a bulk import of my notes and writings instead of copy-pasting one by one. Hope they get this feature out soon!
I'd love to move to capacities, but until we have a large bulk import of markdown, i'll have to stay with my existing tool.
I vote YES for the addition of this feature. I'd like to move my data from Drafts to Capacities. At one time I used Amble Ideation - with its underlying graph capabilities - for about 1 year. What this feature request addresses is the #1 hurdle / impediment as to why the adoption and use of Amble didn't happen within our business and strategy Consultancy.
This is the missing feature for me - I have years of notes in Logseq and workflowy
would be an awesome feature!

Congrats to the team for shipping - not a feature I myself needed but many of my friends will now be Capacities converts because of this. We knew it wouldn't be trivial.
