Tasks in daily note not working as expected on iPad

When typing “()space” in a daily note, the caret leaves the text field. The caret cannot be placed back on the task line with the trackpad if the Magic Keyboard is attached, or with touch if it’s not. The caret can only be placed on the text line underneath, at which point it can be moved back to the task line with the trackpad or touch.
