Inserting images via drag-and-drop is tedious
If it works at all. I think this important feature has been severely neglected in Capacities. Inserting images into objects causes daily headaches. Inserting an image into an object via drag-and-drop is currently a matter of luck - it's always a process of trial and error.
One would expect the app to automatically recognize the drag and display live guide lines inside the objec showing possible insertion positions according to the mouse cursor position, and once a position is selected, the drop to work seamlessly.
This works completely smoothly and intuitively in Anytype, in Notion, in Coda, actually in almost every PKM tool, even in Obsidian.
Just not in Capacities… Why?

Thanks for the detailed description and context. Drag and drop has been expanded in several areas already, but precise image placement with clear visual guides is not yet at the level you describe. The general drag-and-drop principle is in progress, and your comparison to other tools is useful input for that effort. For reference on current drag-and-drop work, see: https://capacities.io/whats-new/release-17#drag-drop-20

Unfortunately, nothing has improved since then, and I haven't received any feedback on this from the team either.
I think inserting images into pages or custom objects via drag-and-drop is such a basic feature that it deserves some attention.
