Kindle import lands in Daily Note instead of Book object (German Kindle export)
Hello Capacities team,
The Kindle Import Integration does not work for me. My Kindle export always ends up as a note in the Daily Note instead of creating a Book object.
Setup:
- Kindle integration: object type mapping is set to "Book" and shows as Active
- Email integration: the sender address is verified and its default space matches the space with the Book type
- Recipient: [email protected]
- Export: from the Kindle app on Android (not from a Kindle device), citation style "None"
- The export is in German: subject, body text and the attached HTML file are all in German
**Result:**The email arrives and is saved in the Daily Note. No Book object is created.
What could cause the email to be treated as a regular note instead of a Kindle export?
Thank you for your help.

·7 days agoHi Lukas is this the case for all exports or just this one? If all exports, is it possible to send us the HTML file to [email protected] so we can test? I cannot reproduce this issue.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Here is the requested information.
Kindle app version: 8.158.0.100(2.0.109808.0)
Platform: Android 17
Redacted copy of the exported email (text part):
- Subject: Kindle-Notizbuchexport für [book title]
- To: [email protected]
- Body: Ihr/e aus [book title] exportierte(s/n) Alle Elemente ist/sind an diese E-Mail angehängt.
- Gesendet von Kindle
- Attachment: 1 PNG from the HTML file, file name starts with the book title. I have attached a redacted copy.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you.

The docs don’t identify German exports as a limitation, so I can’t confirm the cause. Could you add a redacted copy of the exported email or HTML and the Kindle app version to this ticket? Kindle import setup and troubleshooting

Hi Beth, it happens with all exports: they always end up in the Daily Note, never as a Book object. The export is in German. I'm sending the HTML file to [email protected] now.
