Very high memory usage of a book in PDF object type

Embedding a book (340 pages) in a PDF object type results in very high RAM usage, up to 9 GBs (see attachments).

Also the PDF preview loads very slowly in that case.

I presume that embedding books inside the object type might not be their intended use case, though I think it's worth reporting.
