spell check not working
Hy,
I'm on windows 11 with the desktop app.
Spell check is set up correctly in french in capacities, but capacities is still using english for spell checking.
I tried everything, change keyboard language, os language, capacities editor and interface language... nothing seems to work, capacities is still using english for spell checking.
(BTW it would be nice to have multiple languages availiable at the same time for spell check, we are many to take note in 2 different languages)
Tell me if I can be of assitance, or if I'm missing something.
Thx
Félix

I cannot get spellcheck to work on Android in Capacities - neither my tablet nor phone (Both in the Galaxy/OneUI family). I've tried various suggested "fixes" out there, but when spellcheck works in other apps, but not Capacities, it's not my system setting).
As a writer who would prefer to write directly into Capacities, this is proving a barrier to me retaining using it.
As the OP was referring to Windows, do I need a separate ticket/thread?

Sorry I didn't read your message properly, any news on this ?

I have a different issue, but it is related to spelling. When I learn a spelling, it should be reflected globally across all pages and I should not get red underscore line new time I use the word again. But this is not so, currently it just work on the same page, for different pages, it will again flag incorrect spelling.
any news on this ? I don't see anything related to this on the road map... seems like a very basic thing that needs to work before other more "advanced" features
Similar issue here on Arch Linux (GNOME). Spell check doesn’t work at all in Capacities: whether I set Italian or English, no words are ever underlined.

Thanks for the detailed report, Félix. Spell check in other languages is still an experimental feature, and what you describe sounds like a bug rather than a misconfiguration. We’ll need to investigate why French isn’t being applied correctly on Windows. Multi-language spell check is also not supported right now, but it’s very helpful to know you’d use it.
You can read more about spell check here: https://capacities.io/whats-new/release-48/#spell-check-in-your-language 🌱
If you scroll to the bottom of the Capacities settings, you will find the current version (e.g. "Capacities v1.3.14"). As soon as you click (or tap) on this text, all the information that is relevant for us will be copied to your clipboard. Please paste this information as a comment into this ticket. Thanks!

Beth hey, any update on this please? Your chatbot said it appears to be a Capacities specific issue so to post here.
Are there any tests I can run to help it along? I've checked my spellcheck is functioning in other apps. Thanks.
