Update popup keeps reappearing and interrupting other apps, even after updating

The update popup appears and interrupts me even while I'm working in a completely different application — it forces itself to the front. I complete the update, but it keeps reappearing again later, up to ~6 times a day, even though I've already updated. Please fix it from re-prompting after an update is done, stop it from stealing focus from other apps, and reduce how often it appears.
