MCP for Bedrock

Hello

I am using Claude via Bedrock and I am trying to add an MCP to that. There is an option to add Managed MCP Servers but when I try to use my information, I keep getting errors. I am not a coder but I have been able to do this outside of Bedrock in the past.

I entered all the details as expected but I am getting

I am trying to add headers to Connectors and Extensions and there is a header section. I get the following message that I don't understand

Streamable HTTP error: Error POSTing to endpoint: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":0,"error":{"code":-32001,"message":"unauthorized: missing or invalid OAuth bearer token","data":{"error":"invalid_token"}}}

Failed request

HTTP https://api.capacities.io/mcp → initialize

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I am almost there with getting this Bedrocked on the Claude desktop so it would be great if I could find out what I am doing wrong. Might help others as well.

Than you.

Hi Purnima Gore ,

Will close this ticket since we're in contact via email. We'll update the docs once everything is confirmed to be working well for this Claude Desktop setting

It does have an option for OAuth but when I added the Headers with the Bearer including the cap API element it was still not working.

Is that what you meant? (appreciate it is AI responding) so could someone have a look at this for me please? thanks

Thanks for sharing the details. The error means Bedrock is calling https://api.capacities.io/mcp without a valid OAuth access token; Capacities MCP does not accept static headers or API keys and must be connected via the OAuth flow described here: https://docs.capacities.io/developer/model-context-protocol. If Bedrock’s “Managed MCP Servers” UI doesn’t support that OAuth flow yet, it likely cannot connect to Capacities MCP at this time. If Amazon adds full MCP OAuth support later, the setup should then follow the same pattern as the tools listed here: https://docs.capacities.io/reference/ai-chat-connectors.
