Japanese text disappears when confirming IME conversion on Android
I'm experiencing a serious issue when typing Japanese in Daily Notes on the Android app.
The issue happens consistently when confirming Japanese IME conversions. For example:
- I type 「きょうは」 and convert it to 「今日は」, then confirm the conversion. This works correctly.
- I then type 「あつかった」 and convert it to 「暑かった」.
- When I confirm 「暑かった」, the previously confirmed text 「今日は」 disappears.
So, each time I add and confirm a new piece of Japanese text, the previously entered text is deleted.
In other words, instead of getting:
今日は暑かった
I end up with:
暑かった
This makes it effectively impossible to write Japanese text continuously in Daily Notes.
Device: Nothing Phone (2a) Keyboard: Gboard Input language: Japanese
Version 1.68.17
Could you please investigate this issue?
Thank you.

Thanks for the detailed report. This sounds like a critical issue with how the Android editor handles IME composition events during Japanese input.
To help investigate: Does this happen in regular notes/objects too, or only in Daily Notes? Also, have you tested with a different Japanese IME (like Microsoft SwiftKey) to see if it's Gboard-specific?
