Task Widget not showing any open tasks on iphone

I love the new Widget feature and really appreciate a fast way to reach my tasks, etc.

Recently I added the Tasks widget. While I can easily add a new task using the + button on the top right, I am not able to see a list of my open tasks. I am sure I still have open tasks in the space I selected, but the message I get is: "No open tasks, you're all caught up."
