iOS text editing cursor position bug when pressing enter after opening system keyboard
This happens on iOS 26.6, Capacities 1.68.2. It may have happened in earlier versions too.
A bit difficult to explain in text, so here are the steps to replicate.
- Open any document in Capacities iOS and make sure there's at least 1 block (paragraph, list item or whatever) with some text in it (can be multiline or single line).
- Close the system keyboard.
- Now tap the _end_ of the block, like you want to start adding text to the end of it.
- The system keyboard will open again, and you will now have a blinking text editing cursor at the end of the block.
- Now press enter.
- What should happen: the cursor adds a new block below the block you were just on, and moves to it.
- What _happens instead_: the cursor suddenly teleports to the _start_ of the block you were on, and inserts a new block _above_ it.
After this the cursor will work as normal, but if you close the system keyboard and repeat the above, the bug will happen again. The cursor will also work as normal if you move it after opening the system keyboard, before pressing enter.
Here are some additional weird things that happen and are probably related:
- Sometimes when opening the system keyboard like above it just immediately closes.
- Sometimes after pressing enter like above something clearly errors and I get the "Capacities needs to restart" message.
I also tried attaching a video here of this bug, but it doesn't seem to be working.
