Trouble emptying the Trash permanently

Emptying the Bin is a nightmare. It apparently isn't possible to empty the Bin all at once. I've deleted over 400 items and am now trying, with little success, to empty the Trash.

I have to keep clicking the “Empty Trash” button and typing “Delete”; then something seems to be deleted in the background, but when I open the Trash afterward, there are still items in it.

EDIT: After several minutes I finally managed to do it. Apparently, the Bin kept filling up in the background with a delay, even though I had deleted the items long ago.

Overall, Capacities seems very slow to me, when dealing with lager numbers of objects, which is apparently also noticeable when deleting items.
