MCP not working as advertized

It feels like the MCP server functions are not working as promised or as required to deliver good integration with claude and openai.

here is a dialogue from a session where advertized features are not working so codex needed to find a solution using their desktop human user emulator. I have similar problems with claude code reporting that the mcp server advertizes 19 features and only works for 14.

Am I reading this wrong?

I’ll check for an existing page with that exact title, then create it from the updated SOP if no duplicate exists.

Search

An exact Capacities page already exists, so I’m checking whether it contains the updated archive workflow before deciding whether any change is needed.

Used Capacities integration, read files

The Capacities page is an older copy. I’ll update that existing page in place—preserving its identity and avoiding a duplicate—using its block-level editing interface.

Readobjectblocks

The installed connector advertises block editing, but Capacities rejected that operation as unavailable. I’m using a safer supported route: create the corrected page first, verify it, then move only the stale page to Capacities trash, where it remains recoverable for 30 days.

The MCP documentation lists block editing tools such as addBlock, updateBlock, and deleteBlock: https://docs.capacities.io/developer/model-context-protocol. Please add the client and version, the exact tool names reported as unavailable, and the full error returned by Capacities so this can be compared with the advertised tool set.
