iPad OS app freezes

having some issues with the iPad OS app freezing whenever I try to make edits to content like making a highlight or changing formatting and trying to delete it. When I try to do those functions the app freezes. Also, the option to highlight a text or color text formatting isn’t working, I press the option and nothing comes up.
